William Susman

Managing Director
Billy Susman has worked at Salomon Brothers, Merrill Lynch and most recently served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Financo since 2004. Prior to Threadstone Partners, Billy has provided clients with advice on various strategic issues. Billy received a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School at Northwestern. Over nearly 25 years of advising clients, Mr. Susman has completed transactions for Collective Brands, Jones, Kellwood, Li & Fung, Nike, Nordstrom’s, Pacific Sunwear, Spencer’s Holdings and Wolverine. Additionally, he has maintained deep relationships with key industry private equity clients including Angelo Gordon, Apax, Apollo, Goode Partners, Gordon Brothers, Irving Place Capital, LNK Partners, Sun Capital, and Texas Pacific Group.

Jamie Dworkin joined Threadstone Advisors in 2013. Prior to joining Threadstone, Jamie spent over 20 years as a private equity investor culminating in co-founding the 1903 Equity Fund, a $320 million fund targeting investments in middle market retail and consumer companies. Jamie was directly responsible for investments in Things Remembered, Grafton-Fraser and Clair de Lune. Prior to the 1903 Equity Fund, Jamie was a partner at Saunders Karp & Megrue (SKM), a middle-market private equity firm managing over $1.5 billion and focused in the retail and consumer sectors. He was responsible for investments in Applied Technology Products and Kenny Industrial Services. Prior to SKM, Jamie was Managing Director of BT Capital Partners, Bankers Trust’s private equity group, where he was responsible for investments in Safety 1st, Navieras de Puerto Rico, Dominick’s Finer Foods and Ralphs Supermarkets, among others. Jamie began his career at Bankers Trust’s Investment Banking Group participating in a variety of M&A and financing transactions. Jamie received his B.S.B.A. from Georgetown University and his JD/MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Law School and Wharton School of Business.

Ilya Seglin joined Threadstone Advisors in 2015. Prior to joining Threadstone, Ilya operated a consulting practice focusing on the beauty, apparel and accessories sectors and was engaged by such clients as The Estée Lauder Companies. Prior to establishing a consulting practice, Ilya was a Director in the investment banking division of Credit Suisse. While at Credit Suisse, he worked with clients across the retail and consumer landscape to develop and execute M&A strategy, raise debt and equity financing, and address capital structure issues. He executed transactions for companies including The Neiman Marcus Group, PETCO Animal Supplies, totes Isotoner, Dr Pepper Snapple Group and WhiteWave Foods, among others. Before transitioning to investment banking, Ilya spent several years as an analyst evaluating industry trends and assessing companies in the retail, leisure and transportation industries. His experience included working on Dana Telsey’s #1 ranked All-America Research team at Bear Stearns and covering the luxury goods sector. Ilya received his B.A. in Economics from New York University.

Josh Goldberg is a Director in the Investment Banking division of Threadstone. Joshua has worked on and completed deals with leading consumer, retail and apparel companies including Crumbs Bake Shop, Joe’s Jeans, Kellwood Company, Perry Ellis International, and Sequential Brands Group. Prior to joining Threadstone, Josh was a Research Analyst at Pioneer Alternative Investments covering Macro and Systematic hedge fund strategies. Josh received a Bachelor of Science from the Stern School of Business at New York University with a double major in Finance and Marketing, and a minor in Computer Applications. Josh is a Chartered Financial Analyst®

Brandon is an Associate in the Investment Banking division of Threadstone. Brandon has worked on and completed deals with leading consumer products and services companies. Prior to joining Threadstone, Brandon was an Associate in the U.S. Private Equity Group at Baird Capital, where he focused on technology services and manufactured products. He was also a Senior Analyst at Brown Gibbons Lang & Company, focusing on M&A advisory services across the consumer and retail sectors, and was an Associate at Fireman Capital Partners, where he evaluated branded consumer products businesses and tracked the financial and operating performance of the firm’s consumer & retail portfolio companies.

Brandon earned a BA in Government & Law from Lafayette College where he was also Captain of the Men’s Golf Team.

Jack is an Associate in the Investment Banking division of Threadstone. Jack has worked on and completed deals with leading consumer, retail and apparel companies. Prior to joining Threadstone, Jack was a Senior Associate with Deloitte’s Business Valuation and Modeling Advisory practices where he provided advisory services related to M&A, capital planning and financing. Jack received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Vanderbilt University, as well as his Masters in Accountancy with a focus in business valuation from Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management.

Sonya Kalmin is an Associate in the Investment Banking division of Threadstone. Prior to joining Threadstone, Sonya was a Senior Analyst in the Global Capital Management / Leveraged Portfolio Group, which falls within Citibank’s Corporate Banking Division. At Citi, Sonya primarily focused on Debt Recapitalization Efforts and Risk Management Solutions for an array of Portfolio names primarily within the Technology, Industrials and Consumer Retail industries. Prior to Citi, Sonya received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences at the George Washington University with a major in English Literature, and a minor in International Politics.
